We have watched quite a lot of news items already. But there are many sides to news. 

In periode 3, we are going to learn:

-  HOW TO WATCH the news 

- HOW TO DECIDE if the news we watch is reliable and credible 

Why do you think it is important to know how to watch and assess (=beoordelen) the news?

What may happen if news is incorrect and people still believe it?

Do you agree with the quote "If you don't read the newspapers, you're uninformed. If you do read them, you're misinformed"? Explain your answer.

News Literacy is:

In this course news literacy is designed to help students develop critical thinking skills in order to judge the reliability and credibility of information, whether it comes via print, television or the Internet. This is a particularly important skill in the Digital Age, as everyone struggles to deal with information overload and the difficulty in determining the authenticity of reports.
