 He was studying to be a vet, but he gave it up when he won the lottery. - Past continuous
Perfect tense:  have and the past participle
I have worked here for five years. - Present perfect
We had worked together before we started our own business. - Past perfect


Perfect continuous: have + past participle of "to be" + ing
I have been working in Dubai for five years now-Present perfect continuous
We had been working in Yemen before the war. Past perfect continuous
