Component Spinner

A manual about the LessonUp Spinner

what are components?

With components in LessonUp you can add extra (interactive) functionalities to your
lesson. This enhances the educational experience of the students and you can address the different needs of students. LessonUp has 11 different components that can be placed in an existing slide.

+ component spinner

With the spinner component, you can randomly determine which pupil's turn it is. Or use the spinner to test your class randomly on subject matter. The spinner is both useful and fun to use in the classroom.

spinner

Click on '+ Component', and then on 'Spinner'.

The spinner appears in the top left corner of the slide. You can make the spinner larger or smaller by adjusting the size of the frame.

For more advanced spinner customisation options, click on the settings wheel, then click on the pencil. These settings allow you to enter terms instead of students' names.

Click on 'Teach' to start the lesson with the spinner. The students can now log in with the pincode using their own devices with the LessonUp app or they can go to lessonup.app. Their names will now appear automatically on the spinner. If the students were already logged in, their names will automatically be on the spinner.

To prevent a pupil (or term) from having multiple turns, you can indicate whether you want to remove them from the spinner. To do this, click on 'Spin again without '....''.
