Component Hotspot

What are components?

With components in LessonUp you can add extra (interactive) functionalities to your
lesson. This enhances the educational experience of the students and you can address the different needs of students. LessonUp has 11 different components that can be placed in an existing slide.

+ Component Hotspot

The 'Hotspot' component allows you to place interactive buttons at anywhere on your slide. With hotspots you can add an extra layer of information that is clickable and moveable.

HOTspot


Click on '+ Component' and then on 'Hotspot'.

The hotspot appears in the upper left corner of the slide. You can make the hotspot larger or smaller by adjusting the size of the frame.


For more advanced options to customize the hotspot, click on the settings wheel in the box, and then on the pencil.










In the 'Title' box, you enter the text that is visible when the hotspot is 'collapsed'.


In the 'Text' box you add the text that is visible at the moment you click on the hotspot.
The characteristics of this text, such as the color, can be adjusted.

The icon and the color of a hotspot can be adjusted to what you like. You can also add your own image instead of an icon.


It's also possible to use text instead of an icon for a hotspot. This can be useful if you want to create a step-by-step plan in your slide with the use hotspots. Tick ​​the box 'Use text instead of an icon'

By clicking on the 'Extras' tab, you will see a number of options that allow you to determine the 'behavior' of the hotspot. For example, it is possible to determine the position of the texts, to have the text expanded at the start, to give the title and text a white background and to choose whether the hotspot should be movable during the lesson. 

These options can be set separately for each hotspot.


Via the 'Media' tab it is possible to link an already uploaded or newly uploaded image to a hotspot. The image will appear during the presentation when the hotspot is clicked.
