  • Je maakt vragen met to do wanneer er geen vorm van to be, have got, of can in de originele zin staat. 
  • Je maakt van de originele zin een vraagzin door do/does voor de originele zin te zetten. De rest van de zin blijft dus hetzelfde!

  • The animals eat meat. > Do the animals eat meat?

  • This lizard lives in the desert. > Does this lizard live in the desert?

  • Let op!
  • Wanneer in de originele zin he, she, it  voorkomt, begint de vraagzin met does. Het andere werkwoord in de zin verandert dan naar het hele werkwoord (dus zonder -s).

  • He lives in Africa. > Does he live in Africa?

  • Wanneer in de originele zin I, you, we, they  voorkomt, begint de vraagzin met do. Het andere werkwoord in de zin verandert niet.

  • They  like dogs. > Do they like dogs?

  • Ontkenningen betekenen: zeggen dat iets niet zo is
  • Gebruik maken van het woord not 

  • We maken ontkenningen met to do  wanneer er geen vorm van to be, have got, of can in de originele zin staat. 
  • Je doet dit door do not  voor het werkwoord  te zetten.
