Wanneer gebruiken we de:
Present simple?

1. voor feiten, gewoonten en regelmaat
2. Voor iets wat je nu aan het doen bent
3. voor iets wat in het verleden is gebeurd
4. voor iets wat in het verleden begonnen is en nu nog steeds

Hoe maak je de present simple?

Bedenk een zin waarbij je de present simple gebruikt (feiten, gewoonten en regelmaat)

Wanneer gebruiken we de:
Present continuous

1. voor feiten, gewoonten en regelmaat
2. Voor iets wat je nu aan het doen bent en tijdelijke dingen
3. voor iets wat in het verleden is gebeurd
4. voor iets wat in het verleden begonnen is en nu nog steeds

Hoe maak je de present continuous?

Bedenk een zin waarbij je de present continuous gebruikt (wat je nu doet / tijdelijke dingen)

Last week, Beth baked a cake for Lilly's birthday party. Lilly wanted a strawberry cake with pink frosting. Beth was happy to bake the cake.

First, Beth mixed the ingredients in a big bowl. Next, she poured the cake batter into four round baking pans. She put the pans in the oven. Finally, she baked the cakes for 20 minutes.

Past simple

We gebruiken de past simple om aan te geven dat iets in het verleden gebeurd is.

- I played soccer yesterday. 

Belangrijk is dat de actie ook in het verleden beëindigd is

- She passed her exam last week

Wanneer er gebruik wordt gemaakt van de past simple staat er vaak een tijdsaanduiding in de zin 

Hoe maak je de past simple?

Je maakt de past simple door -ED toe te voegen aan het werkwoord:

PLAY - PLAYED 

STAY - STAYED

LEARN - LEARNED

ARRIVE - ARRIVED 

START - STARTED 

Uitzonderingen

We voegen -ED toe om de past simple te maken maar hoe zit dat bij de volgende werkwoorden?

Recently, it has snowed in Maria's town. In the last week, it has snowed three times. Maria has always loved the snow. 

Sparky, has never played in the snow. This is Sparky's first snow. He has not felt the cold yet.

Maria has just received a new sled for Christmas. She puts on her warm clothes and snow boots. She pulls the sled up the hill. Sparky has run outside with Maria. Sparky has followed Maria up the hill. He feels good!

-Dat iets in het verleden is gebeurd waar nu resultaat van is

-Voor dingen die je nog nooit gedaan hebt

Hoe maak je de present perfect?

Je maakt de present perfect door:

have/has + WW + ED

I have played soccer 

Have/has + past participle 

She has left the party
