Important Exam Day Information
Bring the Right Documents
• Confirmation of Entry
• Valid ID (no copies or photos)

Arrival Times
• Arrive 30 minutes before your Speaking and Reading exams
• Return to the exam room 10 minutes before Writing and Listening exams
• You may not leave the venue between exam parts

Electronic Devices
• Must be handed in to IP Campus staff before the Reading exam
• Devices will be returned after the Listening exam
• On Speaking exam day, devices are handed in only during the exam

Writing
- CAE Writing is 90 minutes long and it consists of two separate tasks

- Each part needs to be  220-260/260-280 words long.
- You can cross out and add writing. 
- You have to write an essay for part 1.
- Make sure you "count" the different aspects that are mandatory and give them a seperate paragraph. 
- Usually 4 paragraphs, but could be 3 or 5 depending on the task
- For  part 2 you get three different assignments to choose from. There are four possible types of assignments: a proposal, a review, a report and a letter.

Writing Assessment Criteria
Content. How well you is your writing at achieving the task. Have you developed all the points required by the task?
Communicative Achievement. How appropriate is your writing in terms of style. Have you used the right register (formal or informal)? Does your writing fill the style requirements of your text type (report, review, essay, letter)? Do you understand the purpose of the text you’re writing?
Organisation. How logically you structure your text (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion). How well you connect your ideas in the text (cohesion).
Language. Your grammar and vocabulary. How diverse is your choice of grammar structure? Is the vocabulary you use fairly varied? Do you make any mistakes in both and how much do they affect understanding the idea you convey?
