WHO

  • Betrekking op personen.

  • Example: This is the girl who helped me. 
WHOSE 

  • Betrekking op personen/dingen, geeft bezit aan. 

  • Example: The man whose car had been stolen.

WHICH 
  • Betrekking op dieren/dingen/zinsdelen. 
  • Example: I gave him a letter, which he quickly put in his pocket. 
  • Example: The match had been cancelled, which I didn't understand. 
WHERE

  • Verwijst naar een plaats. 
  • Example: This is the cafe where I was waiting for him. 

Let op! 
Waar + voorzetsel (waarop, waardoor, etc.) vertaal je niet met where.
Example: waarmee = with which

Who(m)/which + voorzetsel of that/niks 
Voorzetsel + who(m) / which = 
waar + voorzetsel óf 
voorzetsel + wie (waarover, over wie). 

Als het voorzetsel achteraan in de (bij)zin staat, gebruik je that of laat je het betrekkelijk voornaamwoord weg.
