Virginia's 5 Regions

Virginia is separated into five geographic regions. Each region offers different sights, land forms, industries, and products. The diversity of our state's regions help make Virginia a beautiful and exciting place to live!

• AKA Tidewater Region                                                                                  -named for the major rivers that rise and fall with the ocean's tides

• The Land                                                                                                             - low flat land
• Products                                                                                                               - peanuts, cotton, soybeans

• AKA Italian for "foot of the mountain"                                                   

• The Land                                                                                                             - low plateau with rolling plains
• Products                                                                                                               - textiles, tobacco, cotton, corn, information technology
