1) using your existing knowledge about the subject of a text.
2) predicting what a text is going to be about.
3) scanning a text for detailed information

Interview your neighbours
What             Interview two neighbours on what seafood they like.
How              Go to google classroom > open document 'Seafood interview'
                        Take turns asking each other:
                        1. If they like to eat seafood.
                        2. If they do, what kind of seafood they like to eat.
                        2. If they don't, why they don't like to eat seafood.
                        Write down the answers in the table and hand it in.
Help              Discuss with your neighbour before asking me

Strategy 3      scanning
Scanning is a fast form of reading that does not pay attention to every detail given in the text.

Think about what form the answers will take. Will they be a time? Will they be a location? What words will probably be in there?
