The skeleton consists out of 2 types of tissue: 
Bone and cartilage 

But..
What are bones made of?

Structure of bones
Bones exist out of calcium phosphate and collagen

Calcium phosphate makes the bone strong and rigid.
Collagen makes the bone flexible

Changes of bone tissue
The skeleton of a baby consists mostly of cartilage tissue.
During growth, most of the cartilage changes to bone.

When you get older:
--> Amount of collagen decreases
--> amount of calcium phosphate increases.

baby is flexible because they have a lot of collagen in their bones
Old people break bones easier because they have less collagen.
