Today’s topic is about some important themes in life, as portrayed in “Life on the Refrigerator Door’.
Looking at the title, do you have an idea of what the book might be about? Also think about what we  discussed earlier about communication.

Two of the themes are mother-daughter relationships and communication. Read the two reviews by opening the hotspots above and answer the following questions:
1. Give two reasons why Emily ‘really likes’ the book?
2. What does Emily think the most important message is? Quote her answers.
3. Who should read this book, and what should they expect? according to Emily.
4. Kristin thought the book was ‘OK’. Why did she feel depressed after reading the book?
5. ‘yet it was glaringly too little, too late.’ What might be too late? What could have happened?

Time for some advice
What:       Give advice to the mother and daughter
Help:         WhatsApp, Instagram, or TikTok
How:         Apparently, based on the information that we are given in the reviews, the mother and daughter  don’t  communicate well. What advice would you give them?

Choose one of the following activities:
  1. Write a Whatsapp message in which you convey your ideas. The name of the daughter is Claire.
  2. Create an Instagram story, with an accompanying picture, about the importance of communication between children and parents. This can be either visual or textual.
  3. Make a Tiktok in which you do something similar as in option 2.

Time:       20 minutes
Done:      Compare your work with a classmate and discuss your similarities/differences/creativity
Result:    Respond to your classmate’s message/story/Tiktok. Include at least one question you still have. 
                  Some students will be asked to present their ideas to the group.
