Submitting you assignment
Deadline 4th of April at the beginning of class!

This means:
- If you have a movie, you have submitted your movie on Teams before class starts
- If you have a comic or a story, print your assignment and hand it in at the beginning of the class. 

On te 4th of April you will not have time to work on the assignment.
If you are late, points will be deducted from your final grade.

- You will find the written assignment on Teams
- Today  you should finish your research and have outlined your story line. If you make a comic you want to start drawing today. 
For a clip make sure to finish your script today. 

Deadline: 2nd of April at the beginning of class
You can work on the assignment on 19/3 (today) and 28/3. Other classes this week and next week are canceled.

Assignment: End of the World
Make a movie/comic/story about the end of the world as someone who has experienced it. 
Use an existing story from any of the religions discussed or pick your own religion

Step by step plan
- First research the story, make sure you have all the right information
- Choose a character: you can be anyone that is in a way part of the story (messiah, critic, bystander, believer, etc.)
- Think of a story line
- Make clear what the values and morals of this believe are

Comic: minimum 2 pages (A4), correct English,  correct and complete information, neat finish, good/entertaining story -line
Story: minimum 1000 words, correct English, correct and complete information, neat finish, good/entertaining story -line
Stop motion: 10-15 frames per second, 0:30-1:00 minute

- End time or end of the world as we know it
- Negative world events will reach a climax
- Apocalyps:  religious belief that the end of the world is imminent. 
- End will be caused by some  catastrophic global event
- After the end -> chosen people will live in peaceful times

The Year 1000
The first Christians believed that the world would soon come to an end.

Then they came to believe that the year 1000 would be the year in which Christ would return to earth to divide humanity between heaven and hell.

The Mayan people lived in Mexico and were defeated and almost exterminated by Spanish colonists.
Their calendar ran until December 21, 2012: reason for people to panic and think the world was going to end...

- People sold their belongings and moved to Jerusalem

Heaven's Gate 

- New religious movement
-  Christian millenarianism, New Age, and ufology, and as such it has been characterized as a UFO religion
- Strong belief the end time is near
- Comet Hale-Bopp
Thirty-nine members of the Heaven's Gate cult committed mass suicide in March 1997 with the intention of teleporting to a spaceship which they believed was flying behind the comet.

- We live in the final days of this world

- Non-members will be destroyed --> therefore they go door to door to convert people

- Some events are seen as proof, like corona epidemic
