In PART 2 you are each given the opportunity to talk for about a minute, and to comment briefly after your partner has spoken. 

PART 2 tests your ability to speak at length, organise your ideas, compare, describe, express opinions and speculate about things connected with the photos.

Most useful instruction?

It is important to listen carefully to the interlocutor's instructions. Answer the specific question you are asked rather than talking vaguely or generally about the photos. Don't make irrelevant comparisons.

The interlocutor gives you twopictures.

You have to answer the question connected with the photos.

You have to compare the two photos you have chosen.

After one minute your partner has to answer a question about the photos.

You are then given another set of pictures to look at. Your partner talks about the pictures for about one minute. This time the interlocutor asks you a question about your partner's pictures and you respond briefly.

1. Study the useful phrases  the box on the right top corner. Try to use them in the folowing assignment.

Picture 1 and 2 show people reading newspapers. Candidate A, compare and contrast these photographs, and say why you think they are reading newspapers. You have a minute to do so.

Candidate B, do you read newspapers?

In the pictures 1 and 2 you see parents and their children.

Candidate B, compare and contrast these photographs, and say how you think the peaple are feeling about each other. You have one minute to do this.

Candidate A, did you often get in trouble as a child?

You will be asked to discuss together without interuption by the examniner. You will have to choose some pictures to help you for your ideas.

The pictures show different jobs students do in a television company to gain experience.

How popular do you think these jobs might be with young people? In which two jobs would they learn the most useful skills?

You have abou 3 minutes for the discussion. You may interupt each other, show agreements or disagreements. See the sentences under the pictures.
