Let's talk clothes and looks!

Goals of this lesson

I can .....

- Describe what somebody's clothing looks like;

- Talk about what somebody looks like (appearance);

- Use an (online) dictionary to look up words I don't know.

Preparation

Let's prepare ourselves for the activities today. Grab a piece of paper and get to work on the following:

- Write down as many words or sentences that you are might going to need, when talking about someone's clothing or looks.

- Try to describe someone as detailed as possible. Look up words and sentences you don't now, using a dictionary or your iPad.

Finding the murderder

You are a cop today! In the following slides, I will describe one of the persons that you will see. Can you find out who I am talking about and is the criminal?

Try and listen for words or sentences that I use. You may want to use them later yourself!

Describing people

The following slide will contain a few individuals. Your job is to talk about those individuals with your neighbours. What can you say about the clothing or looks of that person?

Describing yourself

Now do the same, but try to describe yourself.

What are you wearing?

Colour of your hair/eyes?

What else can you say about yourself?

Help each other! Be sure to talk in English.

Who is it?

Player 1 takes a student in the class in its mind.

Player 2 tries to guess who it is, by asking questions about appearance and clothing.

We will play this game with the entire class at the end!
