ACTIVITY: Inspire & Innovate
Objective: Research a successful artist in your field and extract lessons to shape your
own business idea.

Step 1: Pick Your Artist
Choose one person in your field who inspires you (examples: Beyoncé for music,
Virgil Abloh for fashion, Misty Copeland for dance, Kehinde Wiley for visual arts, and
Steve Jobs for tech).

Step 2: Create a “5 Fun Facts + 1 Business Boost” Sheet
Write down the following:
Name of Artist & Field
5 Fun Facts (Creative, surprising, or inspiring facts about their journey)
1 Business Boost
What is one thing you can learn from their story to help build your business idea?

Example:
Artist: Virgil Abloh – Fashion & Design
Started as an architect before moving into fashion.
Was Kanye West’s creative director.
Founded Off-White, a streetwear brand that mixes high fashion and urban culture.
Loved collaborating with artists from different fields.
Became the first Black artistic director at Louis Vuitton.
Business Boost:
Think outside the box—merge disciplines and build a brand that reflects your voice, even if it breaks traditional rules.
💬

Each student shares their “5 + 1” with the class in 1–2 minutes. After the share, classmates can write down
