Phrasal verbs
Een phrasal verb is een werkwoord dat je samen gebruikt met een voorzetsel of bijwoord

Scientists are looking into ways of reducing pollution.

Phrasal verbs
Het werkwoord look op zichzelf is een werkwoord, maar wanneer je het met een bijwoord of voorzetsel combineert wordt het een phrasal verb, nog steeds een werkwoord, maar met een nieuwe betekenis. Dus één werkwoord kan op meerdere manieren als phrasal verb worden gebruikt.
look up = kijk omhoog/opzoeken
look into = uitzoeken/kijken in
look to = kijken naar
look out = oppassen/opletten
look over = overzien/inspecteren
