What is an ERD?
ERDs are used in database design and data modelling to depict the structure and relationships of data.
An Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) is a visual representation of the relationships between entities within a database/information system.
They can help us understand database designers and stakeholders. Understand the data flow, structure and how different entities interact.

Key Terms
Attributes: Attributes describe the properties or details of an entity. For example, an Employee entity might have attributes such as EmployeeID.
Entities: These are objects in a database that store information. Entities are usually represented by rectangles.
Primary Key: A primary key is a unique identifier for each record in a database table. It ensures that each row can be identified.
Foreign Key: A foreign key is a field in one table that creates a link between the data in two tables. The foreign key in one table corresponds to the primary key in another.
