Not correct.

The formula y = .....x  +/-  .....  

gives you the opportunity to fill in a number for x and

then calculate the outcome, that is y.

(But not  x = .....y +/-  .....)

When g=2 is the growth factor for one month,

the g= 2 to the power of 3 = 2x2x2 = 8 

is the growth factor for three months.
