Regular v.s. Irregular Verbs
Rules in Past Simple
1. Add -ed : work - worked
2. If the verb ends in -e, we add -d : like - liked
3. If the verb ends in -y, the -y changes to -ied : carry - carried
4. If the verb ends in a vowel and a consonant. we double the consonnant before adding -ed : chat - chatted

For irregular verbs there are no rules. You just have to learn them

Mind map
Many irregular verbs follow loose patterns. For example:
Begin – began – begun : Drink – drank – drunk : Sing – sang – sung

Group verbs by similar patterns and add them to your mind map. Use ALL verbs from page 128.
Add drawings/pictures to help you memorize.  

Study them together. This helps your brain see connections and reduces memorization stress.
