PAST SIMPLE NEGATIONS

1. I walked to school this morning.

2. I bought chocolate yesterday.

3. She liked watching scary movies.

4. He was a student at this school.

Negations

Om een ontkenning te maken in de past simple heb je het hulpwerkwoord 'did' nodig, je zet namelijk altijd did not of de afkorting didn't voor het hele werkwoord zonder -ed:

I did not / didn't watch tv last night.

You did not / didn't watch tv last night.

He did not / didn't watch tv last night.

We did not / didn't watch tv last night.

You did not / didn't watch tv last night.

They did not / didn't watch tv last night.

Uitzondering met vorm van 'to be'

Als er een vorm van to be (was/were) in de zin staat:

Zet n't (not) achter het werkwoord.

I was sleepy > I wasn't sleepy.

You were too late > You were not too late.

Past Simple (herhaling)

Gewone, bevestigende zinnen:

Regelmatig: werkwoord +ed

of onregelmatig (2e rij uit je lijst)

Examples: I walked, you ran, she went, he climbed, we could, they tried, they lived, I flushed, it rained, we did

Past simple (herhaling)

Ontkennende zinnen:

 did not / didn't voor het hele werkwoord (dus zonder -ed)

Examples: I did not / didn't watch tv last night.

She didn´t like him.

Questions past simple

vragen stellen in de Past Simple

Did + onderwerp + hele werkwoord 

Examples: Did you go there? Did he like it? Did they find the way? Did she do her homework?

Let op:

Bij het werkwoord to be (zijn), is het anders:

I was (ik was) - Was I? (Was ik?)

you were (jij was) - Were you? (Was jij?)

he was (hij was) - Was he? (Was hij?)

we were (wij waren) - Were we? (Waren wij?)

you were (jullie waren) - Were you? (Waren jullie?)

they were (zij waren) - Were they? (Waren zij?)

Maak hier een vraag van:
She saw him.

1. Did she saw him?

Maak hier een vraag van:
