Gebruik een vorm van to do aan het begin van de vraag:

Present simple: Questions (2)
Let op!
  • Om vragen te stellen met  ' have or has' jij voeg 'do or does' toe
You have geography next--> Do you have geography next?
He has PE on Tuesdays. --> Does he have PE on Tuesdays?
  • Een uitzondering vormen zinnen met 'has/have got': zet has/have vooraan, got blijft op dezelfde plek:

You have got a break at one PM.--> Have you got a break at one PM?
He has got maths at two. --> Has he got maths at two?

Negations in the present simple (1)
  • Als er in een zin een vorm van to be of een hulpwerkwoord (zoals can / will / must / may / should) staat, dan maak je een ontkennende zin daarvan door not / -n't daarachter te zetten:

She is a banker.--> She is not / isn't a banker.
You are a very good cook!--> You are not / aren't a very good cook!
He can swim upstream in that river.--> He cannot / can't swim upstream in that river.
Bedra should pay better attention in class.--> Bedra should not / shouldn't pay better attention in class.

Negations in the present simple (2)
  • In alle andere gevallen (de niet-hulpwerkwoorden, dus bijvoorbeeld like, play, see, sing, study, walk, etc.) zet je do not / don't of does not / doesn't  voor het werkwoord. Bij I/you/we/they wordt did do not / don't en  bij he / she / it wordt dit does not / doesn't.
  • Let op: Het werkwoord verliest de s omdat de s nu al in does staat:

They play tennis at home.--> They do not / don't play tennis at home.
She travels by bus.-->She does not / doesn't travel by bus.
I study hard most of the time.-->I do not / don't study hard most of the time.
He walks ten minutes every day.-->He does not / doesn't walk ten minutes every day.
