Aan het van de les weet je wat de ‘degrees of comparison’ zijn en kan je deze gebruiken in vergelijkingen.

Degrees of comparison 

 Vergelijken  doe je met bijwoorden of bijvoeglijke naamwoorden = woorden die iets zeggen over een zelfstandig naamwoord.

Voorbeeld: It's the hottest day of the year.

Short words

- 1 syllable (1 lettergreep)

- '-er' or '-est'

example: old - older (than) - (the) oldest

-  2 or more syllables

- 'more' or 'most'

- Behalve bij woorden eindigen op medeklinker +'-y'

 This phone is more expensive (than)... --> comparative 

This phone is the most expensive. -->  superlative
