level 1-2:
Put in the right chronological order:
  • observe & record, pasteurisation, plastic surgery, penicillin
level 3-4:
Describe the positive effect of penicillin:
  • penicillin has a positive effect on infected wounds and increased the survival rates of human beings.

Explain why the production of penicillin was so slow and costly and by which country is was solved and why: In GB there was no funding, and production sites were vulnerable to bombing. The USA government donated money to start mass production after they had joined the war.
or
Explain why Lister should have studied Hippocrates: If Lister would have studied the teachings of Hippocrates, he would have known that he should have documented and recorded his work. In that case, penicillin would have been used a lot sooner in history and Lister would have been known as the inventor of penicillin
level 7-8:
Justify the following statement: The development of the Corona vaccin bears much resemblance with the development of the penicillin: on the one hand, I do agree to this statement because it takes a long time to develop a vaccin for corona just like with the penicillin. There was in the beginning no funding for both of them and the development was quite slow and costly. For Corona this is because there was no need up till now. for penicillin it was because of the WWII and not having safe production sites.
