Am, are, is and can
Een vraag te maken met am, are, is and can, zet je het aan het begin van de zin. 
You are a student.                                      He can speak Spanish.
Are you a student?                                    Can he speak Spanish?
Andere werkwoorden
Een vraag te maken met een andere werkwoord, voeg do of does aan het begin van de zin en gebruik je het hele werkwoord. 
do- I, you, we, they                               Do you like pizza?      (Yes, I do like pizza.)
does - he, she, it                                    Does he work here?  (Yes, he works here.)

Je voegt not of -n't toe na am, are, is, en can om een ontkenning te maken.

Andere werkwoorden
Om een ontkenning te maken met een andere werkwoord, voeg je do not/don't of does not/doesn't toe aan het begin can de zin en gebruik je het hele werkwoord.
I like maths.        I do not like maths.=I don't like maths. 
He has a sister.   He does not have a sister. = He doesn't have a sister.
