Explain something similar will come on the test. Then give them a handout with the text and the questions and read it out loud with them. I will read it out loud and then they may skim/read the text again to find the answers.

Reading it out loud: +/- 2 minutes
Letting them read and do the questions: give them 3 minutes max. Then take 1 minute to check the answers.
Students are quiet while I read and they read along with me. While answering the questions, they may work together, but after the 3 minutes it must be done and we will discuss. While discussing they are quiet unless asked for the answer or when wanting to ask a question and given permission to speak.
