What do you think a learning goal is?

Slide 15 - Open question

learning goals...

Learning goals show what you want to achieve (your goal) and how you want to achieve this (objectives).

Slide 16 - Slide

An example
I want to gain a broader vocabulary so that I can understand texts better. I will do this by studying more words and writing down all the words I don't know.

red = the goal
yellow = the objectives

Slide 17 - Slide

A teacher has learning goals too
1. I want to get acqainted with my new students (and vice versa) by giving each other information about ourselves
2. I want to set up some ground rules with my students by giving my own as well as my students' suggestions a spot on the list
3. I want my students to know what they want to work on during this year by letting them set up three personal learning goals

Slide 18 - Slide

Write down three learning goals that you want to work on this year. Make sure that you have a clear goal and multiple objectives!!

Do this on your own

Slide 19 - Slide

Hold on to these learning goals for the rest of the year!
If you feel like you have reached the outcome for one of your goals you can cross this goal off and replace it with a new one. We wil discuss your progress regularly. This will also be helpful when evaluating your growth over the year.

Slide 20 - Slide
