The passive voice 
The passive voice is used to show interest in the person or object that experiences an action rather than the person or object that performs the action. 

The passive voice: a form of to be + past participle (voltooid deelword)

Assignment:
You are Mr Al and you are writing a formal letter of complaint to the city council about the graffiti and general cleanliness of your neighbourhood: 
  • Write 120-250 words. 
  • Give two strong reasons in your letter. 
  • Use a passive sentence. 
  • You may use your creativity when thinking of who to address your letter to. 
  • The assignment will also be posted on itslearning.
