The explanation of TASK 1 - 

The World around You

• First in English, then in Dutch
• Look at page ... in your reader.
• This task consists of two skills: speaking and writing.
• (1) You are going to tell us what you have learned about a song that you really like (= speaking skill) 
• You must answer a number of questions about the song and the band(members) you chose for your presentation
• You must present your song in front of the class.
• You will receive a grade for the presentation. 
• and (2) you are going to write an essay about You and the World around You (= writing skill)
• You must close the essay with a pass (= action assignment).
• The reader explains exactly how to proceed.

De uitleg van taak 1 - 

The World around You

• Kijk op pagina ... in je reader.
• De taak bestaat uit twee vaardigheden: spreekvaardigheid en schrijfvaardigheid.
  
• (1) Je geeft een presentatie over een lied/nummer dat je erg leuk vindt (= spreekvaardigheid)
• Je moet een aantal vragen beantwoorden over het nummer en de band(leden) dat je voor je presentatie hebt gekozen
• Je moet de presentatie van het lied voor de klas doen.
• Je krijgt een cijfer voor de presentatie.
• en, (2) je gaat een opstel schrijven over Jij en de Wereld om je heen (= schrijfvaardigheid).
• Het opstel moet je met een voldoende afsluiten (= handelingsopdracht).
• In de reader wordt precies uitgelegd hoe je te werk moet gaan. En ik ben er om je te helpen!

Giving a presentation

• Prepare your presentation well.
• Type your information in Arial 12 and hand it in in Magister Opdrachten before ...........!  
• Create a PowerPoint presentation with:

1. The song
2. Only words to help you

• Follow the steps in your reader.
• Practise your presentation a few times at home or with a friend.

Een presentatie geven

• Bereid je presentatie goed voor. 
• Typ je informatie over de band en  het nummer in Arial 12 en lever het in in MAGISTER OPDRACHTEN voor .....
• Maak een PowerPoint Presentatie met daarin: 

1. het nummer
2. alleen woorden om je te helpen 

• Volg de stappen in je reader. 
• Oefen je presentatie een paar keer thuis of met een vriend of vriendin.

Writing assignment

"The World around You"

Take out your reader on page ...

• Je gaat een opstel schrijven over Jij en de Wereld om je heen (= schrijfvaardigheid).
• Het opstel moet je met een voldoende afsluiten (= een handelingsopdracht).
• We kijken even samen naar het schema in je reader 

Je bespreekt de vragen met de leerlingen. Ze kunnen eventueel vragen stellen over wat je met een vraag bedoeld. 

Leg uit wat er met "eenvoudig taalgebruik" bedoeld wordt.

De havo/vwo-'ers kunnen werken alleen met een woordenboek of elkaar helpen met vertalen. 

Omdat het aan het begin van het jaar is (de lln leren kennen) en om de lln niet  gelijk te ontmoedigen mogen ze google translate gebruiken.

Steps

• Je moet alle vragen van de nummers 1. t/m 8. beantwoorden
• Tijdens de les gaan we hieraan werken
• De leraar verteld je welke vragen je tijdens de les beantwoord en uitgeschreven moet hebben
• Je bespreekt de vragen eerst met je buurman/buurvrouw en schrijft daarna je eigen verhaal op in het Nederlands

• Probeer mooie antwoorden te geven maar gebruik eenvoudige taal
• Nadat je antwoord hebt gegeven in het Nederlands ga je de tekst vertalen
• Je mag gebruik maken van Google Translate, maar controleer dit wel!
• Heb je de opgegeven vragen niet af in de les, dan is het huiswerk
• So, keep it simple but also
