Slide 1 - Mind map

What makes a good logo?
  • Simple
A good logo is easy to understand and recognize at a glance, avoiding excessive detail or complexity.
  • Memorable
The design should be impactful and unique enough for customers to remember and recall the brand easily.
  • Versatile
A good logo works effectively across various applications, from small digital icons to large print advertisements, maintaining its clarity and impact.

What are vector images?
  • Vector images are pictures made with math, not pixels.
  • Instead of tiny pixels (like a photo), a vector image uses lines, shapes, and curves that the computer can stretch or shrink without getting blurry.
  • That’s why logos and cartoons are often vectors — you can make them as small as a badge or as big as a billboard and they always stay clear.

Mansfield Arts Centre is getting a fresh new look — and YOU get to design their new logo! They want something modern, simple, and awesome that shows creativity, performance, and community.

Your logo must:

  • ✍️ Be made with vector tools (no pixel brushes — keep it crisp!)
  • 🎨 Use just 2–3 colours
  • 🖼️ Have both an icon and a wordmark (a symbol + the name)
  • 🔎 Look great when it’s tiny and still pop when it’s huge
  • 🏆 Prize for the best design — it should be simple, memorable, and versatile (works anywhere, any size!).
