Conclusion:

A conclusion is like the final chord in a song. It makes the listener feel that the piece is complete and well done. The same is true for your audience. You want them to feel that you supported what you stated in your thesis. You then become a reliable author for them and they are impressed by that and will be more likely to read your work in the future. They may also have learned something and maybe have had their opinion changed by what you have written or created!

How do you write a conclusion?
A conclusion is, in some ways, like your introduction. You restate your thesis and summarize your main points of evidence for the reader. You can usually do this in one paragraph.

Slide 4 - Slide

In the following example, the thesis statement is in bold. Notice that it is written in 2 sentences. This is a stylistic choice for impact.

Slide 6 - Slide

Quote
A direct quotation reproduces words verbatim from another work or from your own previously published work.

Effective teams can be difficult to describe because “high performance along one domain does not translate to high performance along another” (Ervin et al., 2018, p. 470).

Slide 7 - Slide

Paraphrase
A paraphrase restates another’s idea (or your own previously published idea) in your own words. Paraphrasing allows you to summarize and synthesize information from one or more sources, focus on significant information, and compare and contrast relevant details.

Bibliography
A bibliography is a list with sources. This list is on the last page of your essay.
