Today we are going to talk about the future

If you want to tell me something about the future, then you'll have to choose between: 

will / shall + full verb 

am/is/are + going to + full verb

We use ‘shall/ will’ for :
* spontaneous actions
Shall we go to the KJ during our lunch break?
* promises
I promise I will do my homework for tomorrow.
* predictions when there is no evidence.
I think I will win the lottery next week.

We use ‘am/is/are going to’ for:
* Plans or questions about plans
We are going to Italy next week. (The trip has been booked.)
* predictions when there is evidence.
