What is the present simple?

De present simple is de t.t ( tegenwoordige tijd)

Je gebruikt 1 werwoord.

De hoofdregel is : he/she/it + S 

Uitzonderingen: s klank + es                    ( kiss he kisses)

                                   klinker + y =ies              ( try she tries)

Kijk naar de volgende zinnen en geef aan of het de tegenwoordige tijd is of niet.

What is the present simple?

Nu weet je hoe de t.t eruit ziet, maar wanneer gebruik je het?

We gebruiken de tegenwoordige tijd als het gaat om:

- Facts ( feiten)

The leopard runs very fast.

- Routines

Harry plays football every Wednesday.

Kijk in de zinnen naar signaalwoorden: 

Woorden zoals: everyday, never, always, every Wednesday vertellen jou dat er routine is

Als er geen signaalwoorden zijn dan gaat het meestal om een feit.

QUESTIONS

Om een vraag te maken in de tegenwoordige tijd moet je DO vooraan zetten:

 I like ice cream. becomes Do I like ice cream?

Maar als het gaat om HE/SHE/IT dan gebruik je DOES.  Kijk goed wat er dan met het werkwoord gebeurt.( de S is verdwenen)

Bob plays football. becomes Does Bob play football?

Als je een vraag moet maken met dit werkwoord, dan zet je die gewoon vooraan

you can get ordinals in 3 types of ways 

•  add th to the written number 

                 four - fourth seven -seventh 

• add th to the written number and changing the spelling

                  five- fifth nine- ninth 

•  the number changes completely 

                one - first two-second three-third
