John Mccrae
In Flanders Fields is a poem by John McCrae, a Canadian poet, soldier, and doctor.

Written in 1915, it honors soldiers who died in a World War I battle.

The battle took place in Belgium, in the Ypres Salient area.

McCrae treated many wounded soldiers during the battle.

He was deeply affected by the death of his friend, Alexis Helmer.

The poem reflects on:
The sadness of the soldiers’ deaths.
The beauty of the nature surrounding their graves.
It challenges the next generation to continue the soldiers' fight.
