Aims:

  • I'm more confident to speak English
  • I know enough words to tell something about a picture for about 2 minutes.
  • I know how to make  questions in English
  • I know how to answer question in English

Slide 3 - Slide

1. Show and tell
  • You choose a picture from the stack that means something to you and that you are able to tell something about it.
  • Make groups 4 or 5 persons
  • Every group member is going to talk 2 - 3 minutes

Instruction:
  • TIME:  2 - 3 minutes per person
  • HOW:  In groups of max. 5 people
  • HELP:  If you don’t know a word, try to describe it or ask if                       someone in your group knows.
                   If you don’t know what else to  say about your picture,                 the people in your group can ask questions –                                   preferably open ended question!

2. Interview pop 
  • You are going to interview yourself! 
  • Choose someone you admire and whom
    you wish to ask 5 questions
    (he/she doesn't have to live anymore)
  • Choose someone you know quite a lot about!
  • Choose 5 verbs from the list you'll see next, write these verbs down

decide
hate
love
offer
prefer
move
win 
continue
buy
wait
consider
change
keep
forget
repeat

Make 5 questions:
  • Make 5 questions with each verb
  • These questions are the ones you are going to use in the interview
  • For example:
    - What did you love about being the president of the USA?
    - How did you decide you want to become president of the USA?

The Interview
  • Make pairs
  • Give your partner your own questions 
  • You take the role of the person you wanted to interview,
  • While your partner asks you the questions you just made.
  • You both take both roles: interviewer and being interviewed
