DEBATE

Slide 1 - Slide

What are we going to do today?
  • Boardgame debates
  • Class/group debates P2 (improvised vs preppared debate)

Slide 2 - Slide

Boardgame rules

1. Players take turns rolling a dice to move their game piece along the board. Before you throw the dice decide if you are going to argue for or against the topic that you're going to land on.
2. When landing on a space, players debate the topic with the before decided pro or con side.
3. The player then has 1 minute to deliver their speech without preparation time.
4. After the speech, other players or a judge ask questions, with the speaker responding within 30 seconds each.
5. Based on the quality of their speech and responses, players either have to go back (if they can't argue the point) or they stay in place.
6. Special spaces on the board may grant bonus points, skip turns, or move back.
