Solutions
A solution is a mixture between a solvent (usually water) and a disolved substance (could be a gas, liquid or solid at the start)
It is mixed really well (on to molecular level) so you often can't tell if something is a solution just by looking at it. A solution is always transparent, and can have a colour.

Suspensions
A suspension is a mixture between a liquid and a solid which do not mix very well, the solid particles hover around in the liquid and if you leave a suspension for a long time the solid particles will settle at the bottom. A suspension always has a colour and they are always turbid.
