Plurals:

Slide 2 - Slide

Plurals = meervoud
In English, we can use nouns in singular and in plural form.
Example:

"I have one dog."
"I have three dogs."

Dog = singular noun
Dogs = plural noun

Nouns = zelfstandige naamwoorden
How do we go from a singular noun --> to a plural noun?

There are 4 rules.

Slide 4 - Slide

1: Regular nouns 
If the noun is a regular noun --> you add -S.
Examples:

Car --> Cars
Book --> Books
Dog --> Dogs


Slide 5 - Slide

2: F or FE
If a noun ends with F or FE --> you remove the F/FE and you add 
-VES
Examples:
Wolf --> Wolves
Life --> Lives
Knife --> Knives

Slide 6 - Slide

3: IRREGULAR NOUNS
If a noun is an irregular noun --> You have to know the plural form by heart. There aren't any rules for them.
Examples:

Man --> Men
Child --> Children
Woman --> Women

4: NO CHANGE
There are also singular nouns that don't change in the plural form. You also have to know them by heart. 
Examples:

Sheep --> Sheep
Fish --> Fish
