Grammar

Grab your notebooks. 

Conditionals - bestaan uit twee delen:

If-clausule en de main-clausule

"If you commit a crime, you go to jail."

"You go to jail, if you commit a crime."

Zero- conditional

Feiten of dingen die meestal waar zijn.

"If it rains, the streets get whet."

In welke tijd staat deze zin?

Fill in the correct tense on the blank lines:
If the potatoes ___ (to be) hot, I ___ (to advise) you to not eat them.

First- conditional

Voor dingen in de toekomst die echt zijn of mogelijk zijn.

"My cat will live, if I feed it."

"If the weather is nice, I will go BBQ"

(If + present simple) + (will + hele ww.)

Create your own first-conditional:
(if + present simple) + (will + infinitive)

Second conditional

Voor dingen die waarschijnlijk niet gaan gebeuren of fictief zijn.

"If Bob won the lottery, he could buy a new car."

(If + past tense) + (would/could + hele ww.)

Third conditional

Voor fictieve situaties als dingen vroeger anders waren.

"I would have studied better, if I had known it was on the test."

(If + past perfect) + (Would/could + present perfect. )
