What do you always have to do?

• Always take a notebook with you to class. 
• Write down the grammar rules in your notebook.
• Write other important stuff in your notebook.

No notebook (or an empty one) means that you've forgotten your work.

Create a vocabulary list at the end of your notebook. This broadens your vocabulary and help you remember more.

• Write down the words you don't know.
• Select 5 of these tasks.

Strategy - Intensive listening

Bij intensief luisteren en kijken luister / kijk je naar het hele fragment van begin tot eind en probeer je alle informatie te begrijpen. Indien mogelijk bekijk / beluister je het fragment een tweede keer. Zoek de betekenis van moeilijke woorden op, zodat je precies weet waarover het fragment gaat.

Tip:

Make sure you read all the sentence first and look at the difference between the answers before you listen to the fragment.

40. After listening

• On your own: 

What did PC Smith talk about? Look at the pictures. Match three of them with the correct sentence from the clip. There is one picture you can’t use. Match the leftover picture with X.

• In pairs:

Team up with a classmate. Decide who is pupil A and who is pupil B.

- Read your speechcard

- Write down words you don't know and look them up

- Look up words you might need to use in a dictionary

- Have a conversation (5 minutes)

Situatie:

Je bezoekt een paar dagen een stad in Engeland. Je gaat naar een VVV-kantoor om allerlei informatie te vragen over die stad en de omgeving. Jij begint het gesprek

- Groet de medewerker

- Vertel waar je voor komt

- Vraag naar de verblijfsmogelijkheden

- Vraag de belangrijkste attracties.

- Vraag of er ook rondleidingen zijn

- Vraag over de omgeving van de stad

- Bedenk zelf ook een aantal vragen en geef antwoorden op de vragen van de medewerker. 

Situatie

Je bent een medewerker van een VVV-kantoor van een stad in Engeland. Beantwoord de vragen van de bezoeker. Vertel over de stad en stel zelf ook een paar vragen aan de bezoeker. Je klasgenoot begint het gesprek.

- Groet terug en vraag wat je voor de bezoeker kunt doen.

- Vertel over diverse verblijfsmogelijkheden (hostels/jeugdherberg/camping)

- Vertel welke attracties er zijn (mooie musea/veel winkels/rondvaart/ bedenk zelf iets)

- Zeg dat jullie zelf rondleidingen verzorgen.

- Vertel dat er een groot pretpark is dicht bij de stad. Goed bereikbaar met openbaar vervoer.

- Bedenk zelf een paar vragen om te stellen aan de bezoeker.
