What is the Past Simple?

Past Simple

We use the Past Simple to talk about things that happend and ended in the past time. 

Example: He walked to school yesterday. 

How do we make the past simple: (verb)+ (e)d 

But what about irregular verbs? 

Past Simple: Irregular verbs

Irregular verbs are "onregelmatige werkwoorden".

With these words the normal rule doesn't apply. These words change when you put them in the past tense. You have to learn these words by heart! 

Example:

to fly = Fly -> Flies 

to know = Know -> Knew 

to sit = Sit -> Sat 

to be = is/are -> was/were
