Throughout the year, we will constantly use these words so that you can apply them in a discussion.

Key words:
Surfing = when you are online, going from web page to webpage, you are surfing.

Webbrowser = This is the program you need to get access to the internet.

Website = a collection of webpages with data, like text, images, videos, which are saved (technical term = 'hosted'). Next, the website has been placed on one or more web servers, and (usually) made available through the internet.
The part of the word 'web' in 'website' refers to the worldwide web and the English word 'site' means its place.

Surfing to a website without errors
People often find that the internet knows everything for them. However, when you type in insufficient information, sometimes it leads to errors.
When you don't use a domain extension in your URL, you will always get to a website through a search engine.
In this case, the search engine sometimes gives you the wrong websites. So be specific and precise in your URL use.

Ip-address
Each computer that is connected to the internet has a unique number, the IP-address. Through the IP-address, computers can identify each other, and communicate with each other. Think of it as a type of telephone number for computers.
Websites sometimes also use the IP-address, for example to determine where your location is. The internet provider provides the IP-address.
The IP-address is made up of 4 series of numbers separated by a dot (.).
When you want to know your IP-address, go to: watismijnipadres.nl

Normally, we don't see this as it gets translated into a domain name: the website name.
You can use the following website for this:
