Bijvoeglijk naamwoord (adjective)

Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord zegt iets over een zelfstandig naamwoord.

Het mooie huis                 The beautiful house

Een makkelijk vak                  An easy subject

De fantastische show         The fantastic show

Een zelfstandig naamwoord is een ding, dier of mens en je kunt er vaak de, het of een voor zetten.

Bijwoord (adverb)

Een bijwoord zegt iets over een werkwoord, dus over HOE iemand iets doet.

Dunya sings beautifully. ("beautifully" zegt iets over "sings".)

Een werkwoord is iets wat je kunt doen.

Hoe maak je een bijwoord?

Be careful!!

Bij de volgende werkwoorden gebruik je een BIJV NW in plaats van een BIJWOORD.

to be (zijn), to seem , to feel , to smell , to sound , to taste, to look >>

It smells/tastes/looks terrible.- It feels cold - He sounds horrible

Be careful!!

Sommige bijwoorden hebben een onregelmatige vorm of dezelfde vorm

Onregelmatig:

He is a good boy. - He studies well.

Zelfde vorm

Bij fast, long, fair, low, high

That is a fast car. - It drives fast. 

It took long to get there - The long road

Want: na het woord TASTES (1 van de senses) gebruik je bijv nw.

3. easyly

want: zegt iets over hoe iemand iets doet > Dus het is een bijwoord. 

Het is GEEN easyly want> Spelling van woorden die eindigen op medeklinker+ Y >> verandert in +ily

Want: Het zegt iets over hoe iemand iets doet

Jamie Oliver cooks ...

1. fantastic
2. fantasticly
3. fantastically

Als een bijv nw eindigt op -ic  dan komt er - ally achter

Madonna is a ... singer.

1. terribly
2. terrible

Geen verandering want het word terrible zegt iets over Madonna

ALs het SINGS terrible is > Dan wordt het SINGS TERRIBLY.

That pizza smells ...

1. nicely
2. nice

B want: Het is 1 van de senses. Dus je gebruikt een bijv nw.

I think a Friesian horse is ...

1. beautiful
2. beautifully

Want: het zegts iets over de Horse > Het bijv nw is er om iets te zeggen over iets or iemand.

Ik weet het verschil tussen een adverb en adjective en kan deze toepassen.
