Prefixes: zet je voor een woord 
non- / un- /  im- /  il- / ir- / in- 
Geven een woord een tegenovergestelde betekenis. BIjv: impossible

re- 
betekent opnieuw (again) of terug (back): Bijv. return

mis- / dis-geven een negatieve of tegenovergestelde betekenis aan een woord: disrespect, misbehave

-ment/ -ing
maakt van een werkwoord een zelfstandig naamwoord

maakt van een bijwoord of bijv. naamwoord een zelfstandig naamwoord
happy - happiness / weak - weakness

Examples:
ACTIVE voice: I see that house.
PASSIVE voice: That house is seen (by me).
ACTIVE voice: The tree dropped a leaf.
PASSIVE voice: A leaf was dropped (by the tree).
ACTIVE voice: She has caught the ball.
PASSIVE voice: The ball has been caught (by her).

ACTIVE voice: I see that house.
PASSIVE voice: That house is seen (by me).

Rules for PASSIVE:
-> the object becomes the subject
-> a form of ‘to be’ + past participle is added
-> the focus is on the action.
