Aanwijzende voornaamwoorden

In het Engels kan je in aanwijzende voornaamwoorden gebruiken. Het is misschien wel makkelijker dan de Nederlandse versie! Waarom? In het Nederlands moet je er rekening mee houden dat je niet die zegt tegen een het-woord bijvoorbeeld. Je kan niet die boek zeggen. Je zegt namelijk: dat boek!

In het Engels hoef je alleen te kijken of het zelfstandig naamwoord ENKELVOUD of MEERVOUD is én of het DICHTBIJ ligt/staat of VERAF ligt/staat.

Examples:
Look at THIS pen in my hand!

That man over there is happy.

Aangeplakte vragen!

In het Engels noemen we dit question tags.

Question tags

Stel je wil iets zeggen, maar je weet niet zeker of het klopt, dan kan je gebruik maken van de question tags.

Je ben nu op school, toch?

You are at school right now, aren't you?

Dit kan ook:

You aren't at school right now, are you?

Als de hoofdzin "+" (BEVESTIGEND) is dan is aangeplakte vraag een "-" (ONTKENNEND).

voorbeeld:  He is strong, isn't he?

Is de hoofdzin "-" (ONTKENNEND) dan is de aangeplakte vraag "+" (BEVESTIGEND). voorbeeld: You aren't angry, are you?

Uitzondering bij I.

Als de hoofdzin bevestigend is, dan zet je bij de aangeplakte vraag aren't.

voorbeeld:

I am at home, aren't I?

Probeer één zin te maken met een question tag. Je mag zelf een zin bedenken. Houd het simpel!
