Importance of referencing
  1. give credit to the authors you have cited in your work
  2. support your own ideas and conclusions

Step-by-step guide
For your  essay, you have to cite your information. 
For now: 
1. Write down where you got the information from. Copy the website. Copy it to your essay document on the last page. 
2. Start making a list of sources and try to order them alphabetically, straight away. It saves time ;-) 
3. Use the website/poster in Magister to write them properly.

Your reference list should consist of your sources, but not necessarily ordered yet, only present.
