Period 4 lesson 1

Slide 1 - Slide

Ss learn the difference between the present simple and present continuous. This builds on the work they did on the present continuous in Lesson 6A. The context is a listening where they listen to people talking about what they’d do if they had an ‘extra day’. Ss learn some phrasal verbs.
They also learn about the /t/ sound in connected speech. Then they do a speaking activity where they
discuss doing volunteer jobs.

What don’t you like? Why?

2. Imagine you have an extra day free each week. What would you like to do on the extra day?

3. Look at the photo of the man working on his extra day. What is he doing?
