Je gebruikt bijvoeglijke naamwoorden om mensen of dingen te beschrijven. Een bijvoeglijk naamwoord geeft meer informatie over het zelfstandige naamwoord. 
Het staat meestal direct voor het zelfstandig naamwoord.

My parents have a blue car.
He is going to a big party.
She was a famous tennis player.
