a) Welsh is spoken daily by thousands of people, it is used by
government and officials, road signs are in both English and Welsh
and there are TV and radio programmes in Welsh.
b) The English spoken in Wales has some words and phrases that are
not used elsewhere.
c) Although it looks as if some Welsh words don’t have
any vowels, Welsh actually has more vowels than English; it also
has some sounds that do not exist in English.
