Tag questions

positive sentence = negative tag

negative sentence = positive tag

Tag questions

He is the youngest, isn't he?

negative sentence = positive tag

She isn't happy, is she?

Korte vragen (tag questions)

Tag questions komen aan het einde  van een zin te staan. 

Je gebruikt de tags om iemands mening  te vragen of 

om een bevestiging  te vragen.

Bijvoorbeeld:

She is very nice, isn't she?

Zij is erg aardig, toch?

1. Herhaal de vorm van 'to be' (am/are/is)  

Is de zin positief (+), dan wordt de tag question negatief (-)     

Is de zin negatief (-), dan wordt de tag question positief (+)    (+) Lisa  is late for school, isn't  she?  (-) 

       (-)  Lisa  isn't  late for school, is  she? (+)

       (+) We  are  late for school, aren't  we? (-) 

       (-) They  aren't  late for school, are  they? (+)

(+)  You are  often chilling with your friends, aren't  you? (-)

(-) My friends and I  aren't  doing our homework, are we? (+) 

(+) Your grandmother  is  very sweet, isn't she? (-)

Let op!

Er is één uitzondering:

I AM always happy, AREN'T I?

AMN'T BESTAAT NIET!

I'm a good field hockey player, .... ....?

Ice hockey is a popular sport in Canada, .... ....?

There are big differences between the two games, ..... .....?

It isn't the same as European football, ..... ......?
